Election Technology White Paper

At the 2010 NASED Conference in Washington D.C., the North Carolina State Board of Elections presented a white paper entitled, "Online Election Administration." The paper presents how the state sucessfully used S.O.E. Software's suite of online election tools to centralize and streamline election administration for the 2008 General Election. Included are implementation notes, challenges faced, and the benefits realized from the move to a comprehensive suite of tools.

State Focus

The South Carolina State Election Commission began using Clarity ENR to display election results in 2008 in time for the General Election, and the feedback has been very positive. Marci Andino, Executive Director, agreed to share her experience with Clarity ENR and how it has helped the South Carolina State Election Commission and the counties that report results back to the state. Alan Helms, IT Specialist for the state, also provides some insight into working with S.O.E. Software on the implementation.

SOE Employee Spotlight

Alan Aldahondo is an Account Manager at SOE Software. He came to us from the Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections Office where he was their Voter Education Coordinator. In that capacity, he gave presentations to schools and civic organizations about registering to vote and the voting process. He also gave presentations on the Vote in Honor of a Vet program. Here at S.O.E., Alan specializes in the Clarity TRAINING platform, and is always open to feedback about the product and the support we provide for it. Alan loves working in the elections industry and is proud to be part of the S.O.E. software Account Management team.

Clarity TRAINING Tool Tips

Courses are automatically assigned to students when a new CSV file with current poll worker data is uploaded to our FTP site. This is a convenient feature that saves you the time of manually adding new students and assigning training to them. However, the file has to match the originally set up exactly as far as naming of the file, the file type, and the column headings; otherwise, the script that makes the updates won't recognize the file and will fail to run the update.
