NASS 2011 Summer Conference Highlights
It was a great week at the NASS 2011 Summer Conference. West Virginia Secretary of State, Natalie Tenant (Our Host), Minnesota Secretary of State, Mark Ritchie (NASS President), and Alabama Secretary of State, Beth Chapman (NASS VP), as well as NASS Executive Director, Leslie Reynolds put on a successful conference at the Glade Springs Resort in Daniels, WV.
Some of the many highlights included Secretary Tenant speaking on the importance of open and engaging government, a great discussion on day two about providing Election Night results, and a talk that included Sandra Day O'Connor's work with iCivics. At the Corporate Affiliate Reception, SOE Software received recognition for its sponsorship along with other corporate affiliates at the Tamarack Cultural Arts Center.
SOE Software would like thank all of the SOS's for their time this week and for sharing what is most important to them. SOE Software will continue to work hard to integrate those priorities into technology solutions that are cost effective, open and transparent, and improve the democratic process.

Bilingual Poll Worker Training
SOE Software recently completed a Spanish language training program for Fort Bend County, Texas. This online training program covers the specific performance expectations for their Bilingual Clerk position, over and above general poll worker requirements. These lessons detail the role and responsibilities of the position and describe how to assist non-English speaking voters with the voting process.

SOE Software has appointed Rocky Shirey to the role of Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Vice President of Information Technology. Rocky will manage SOE Software's information technology organization that supports the company's sales, marketing and services efforts, and corporate Information Technology (IT) processes.
Rocky brings more than 25 years of experience in applications development and IT operations for leading corporations. In the past, Rocky held management roles at John Hancock and Verizon, supporting several mission-critical applications.
