Senior Software Engineer

SOE Software, a leading developer of elections-related systems, is seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent web development skills. The job consists of design, construction, and implementation of new applications and modifications to existing applications using Java, ASP.Net, C#, HTML and CSS. Works in a team or individually depending on the scope of the project.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Gathers requirements from customers and account management teams
• Creates design specifications
• Writes and unit tests programs conforming to design specifications
• Participates in QA cycle
• Assists in process improvement in company
• Proposes new ideas for modules and products

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of experience in the IT industry
• Experienced in various software development lifecycle methodologies Object-oriented design and programming
• Proficiency in web and windows applications
• 4+ years experience in Java, C++ or C# (.Net preferred)
• 2+ years experience in SQL Server, Oracle or MySQL
• Required web programming knowledge – HTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript and ASP.Net Strong communication and documentation skills

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Creates web applications and libraries using J2EE, SQL, C#, ASP.Net, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Performs basic tasks in UNIX environment
